She tried to picture him in his Turk uniform and found she couldn’t. Somehow it didn’t seem to fit with him to wear one of those suits and yet she knew he did so the fact she couldn’t picture it just frustrated her even more than she thought it should. She sat there looking at him curled up on the big chair in her living room and wondered what he looked like. Was he as beautiful then as he was now? And if so why hadn’t Lucrecia wanted to be with him? Why pick Hojo over him? The idea didn’t make any sense.
His eyes jumped to her and her breath hitched. Even when he sat there calmly gazing at her his gaze was intense. “You keep watching me,” he told her.
“I am thinking.”
“You,” she told him honestly. “I am wondering how you looked in your Turk uniform.”
The edges of his lips twitched slightly but he did not smile. “What an odd thing to be thinking about?”
She shrugged slightly, pulled her legs closer to the rest of her body. “I was only wondering.”
“Don’t bother. You will never figure it out.”
She pouted folding her arms across her chest. “Meanie!”
That darn lip twitch again. “You call me that a lot you know.”
“Hmph.” She threw her legs off of the chair and stood in a huff. “Fine, forget it. I really don’t give a damn.” She gave him her best scathing look which even she would admit was less than intimidating and made for her room determined to make the perfect angry exit, but as he always did he stopped her, grabbed her arm and spun him towards her.
“It is just an outfit Yuffie,” he breathed. “Why does what I looked like wearing it matter?”
“I don’t know,” she told him honestly. “I was just wondering is all.”
His lips twitched again, an almost smile. “You think of such strange things.”
“Look Vinnie, I am not in the mood for your insults-“
She opened her mouth to say something but his lips pressed against hers, warm and firm, and all thoughts of what that damn uniform looked like on him disappeared as she fell into the warmth of his lips and the warmth of his embrace.
