She was the most pure thing in my life. She was beautiful and sweet and kind when she shouldn’t have been such to me. I wasn’t worthy of her time or her love.
She stroked my hair I the dark and held me to her side telling me everything was alright. Somewhere along the line I had tarnished the white that was her soul, yet she remained so pure and innocent to me that sometimes my teeth hurt watching her smile at me like a child. Did that make me a monster then for taking her in the pale moonlight? If she was a child was I the monster that robbed the cradle in the dead of the night?
She kissed me soundly, held me to her side and told me she loved me. How could she love such a horrible monster? “You aren’t a monster,” she insisted. “You are my everything. Without you I am nothing.”
But she deserved so much better than a broken shell of a man. She was light and I was dark, and oh how she drew me in, that beautiful little love of mine. She became my shelter, took away all the pain that I couldn’t escape from until there was her. She guided me when there was no guidance to be found, held me to her side and washed away my sins with her beautiful pale hands.
